Both are geocentric — they do not depend on your city. We compute them with the Swiss Ephemeris (sidereal, Lahiri) for 12:00 IST and show when each ends. - Convention, not error: traditional panchangs quote values at local sunrise, while this page computes at 12:00 IST. Around a transition (a tithi or nakshatra ending), the two conventions can differ by some minutes — the ending times shown here make the moment explicit.
- Does the panchang depend on my city?
- Tithi and nakshatra are geocentric — the same for all of India at a given instant. What varies by city is the local sunrise a traditional panchang anchors to, and therefore which value it prints for “today”.
