You deserve to know exactly what is human, what is computed, and what is AI in Tarasetu. Here it is.

1. Tara is an AI

Tara, your Jyotish guide, is a conversational artificial intelligence (a large language model). She is not a human astrologer, and we will never pretend otherwise — no "astrologers waiting for you", no fake typing indicators.

2. The math is never the AI's job

Your kundli — graha positions, lagna, bhavas, the 27 nakshatras with pada, D1/D9/Chandra charts, Vimshottari dasha dates — is computed deterministically with the Swiss Ephemeris (sidereal zodiac, Lahiri ayanāṁśa, whole-sign houses). The AI never estimates or invents a single position or date. We validate the engine against a public gold-set of reference charts.

3. The doctrine is cited, not invented

Tara interprets from a curated knowledge base of classical Jyotish sources — Bṛhat Parāśara Horā Śāstra, Phaladeepika, Saravali — and cites the source in her answers. The AI writes and personalizes; it does not create doctrine.

4. Guardrails

• No predictions about health, pregnancy, death or investments — those questions belong to professionals, not charts.
• Matching (gun milan) is always shown with cancellations and context, never as a verdict on a marriage.
• Remedies: we never sell gemstones, remedies or pujas, and never frame doshas to scare you into buying anything.
• Crisis: if a conversation suggests you are going through a hard time, Tara sets astrology aside and shows free, confidential Indian helplines (AASRA 9820466726, Vandrevala Foundation 9999666555, iCall 9152987821) — this happens before any AI processing.

5. Entertainment, honestly labelled

Tarasetu is a service of entertainment and self-reflection, in line with the guidance of the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI). Astrology is not science; we present it as tradition, computed rigorously and sourced honestly. Your decisions are yours.

6. Your conversations and the AI

Conversations are processed by our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate responses. They are not used to train models. See the Privacy Policy for details and your rights.
