Sade Sati is the roughly seven-and-a-half-year stretch while Saturn transits the rāśi before your Moon, your Moon’s own rāśi and the one after. Tradition reads it as a season of pressure and maturation. Its actual weight depends on Saturn’s role in your own chart — which is why a period like this is best read as a workload with a name and an end date, not as a verdict. It returns about every 30 years.
How the dates are counted
We count a period from Saturn’s first entry to its final exit. When Saturn turns retrograde it sometimes steps back across a boundary and returns — we show that as an interruption instead of splitting the period. Many sites use the first exit or the second entry instead, so their dates can differ by a few months; both dates are listed here. Saturn’s ingress dates agree with Drik Panchang; any difference in the hour comes from the ayanāṁśa convention (see planetary transits).
